CULHUACÁN OLD MONASTERY
Anthropology and History.
This is a magnificent construction built with volcanic basaltic stones, surrounded by confinements in its two floors. Visitors can see religious frescos decorating this museum walls. Four rooms of this museum feature the history from the lordship period to the arrival of the Spanish conquerors, those rooms are entitled: Señorío de Culhuacán y el Medio Lacustre (The Culhuacán lordship and the Lakeshore), Hacia el dominio mexica (Towards the Mexica Domain), Culhuacán as a religious center, the last one is located in the monk’s private chapel, where visitors can see old evangelization practices.
