JARDIN HIDALGO PLAZA AND KIOSK.
This is the heart of Coyoacán. It is compsed by a great cobbled area, decorated with gardens that lead to a beautiful XIX century kiosk. It is a nineteenth-century French style space that was donated by General Porfirio Díaz for the celebration of the centennial anniversary of the independent feat. It has an poligonal plan, covered in blades that has a stained-glass dome finished with a bronze republic eagle. Visitors can also see the monument to Don Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla made by the artist Luis Arias. It is a beautiful park with large plazas where the neighbours gather, and thousands of Mexico City inhabitants go on weekends. This is the favourite gathering point for the city inhabitans, and several spaces were integrated to the plaza surrounded by beautiful buildings and different expressions of street art.
